Mattress Removal in Cambridge
Mattress Removal in Cambridge
Here's what the moving checklist forgot to mention: Massachusetts banned mattresses from the trash in 2022. Leave one at a Cambridge curb and it stays there, tagged, while your landlord gets cranky. We do the compliant version: bagged in the bedroom, carried down the walk-up, delivered to a mattress recycler — flat-priced by size, timed to your lease.
The ban, the calendar, and the bag
The MassDEP waste ban means every mattress and box spring in the state has to be recycled, not trashed — steel, foam and fiber all have somewhere better to be. Fine policy; annoying logistics, especially in a city that turns over on graduation week and September 1. Our route: the mattress gets bagged where it sleeps (whatever it's absorbed stays inside), walked down the Porter or Central Square staircase, and delivered to a recycler — compliance included in the flat price, not a surcharge. Grad students wrapping five-year programs, families upgrading sizes, landlords finding a "gift" in unit 3: same price list, same clean exit.
