Ask about stairs, long carries, disposal and fuel — those are where surcharges live, and stairs matter more here than almost anywhere given the triple-decker housing stock. Ours is a flat quoted price with none of them. A third-floor walk-up in Allston is quoted the same as a ground-floor apartment holding the same contents.
